Benefits
Cooking and Virtue
Hawaii black salt is a finishing salt. Use it like a fleur de sel, to sprinkle on your dishes. It has slightly smoky notes due to the addition of activated carbon during its manufacture.
It will bring a striking contrast to colored vegetables or meat with its intense black color.
Origins
A long journey
Hawaii black salt is exclusively harvested on the Hawaiian island of Molokai. As seawater evaporates, black volcanic lava rock and activated carbon derived from coconut shells are added. The water thus turns black and colors the salt that remains after total evaporation of the water.
This black salt from Hawaii, made entirely by hand, remains a unique and elegant product.
